Tim Thomas made 26 saves but it wasn't enough as the Bruins fell to the Devils 4-3 at home in the TD Banknorth Garden. The Devils once led 2-0 until the Bruins were able to score three straight goals in the third period from Chuck Kobasew, Marc Savard and Dennis Wideman.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored the 1st and winning goals of the game and even Devil coach Brent Sutter admitted there were some weird goals in this wild affair. A game that the Bruins seemed to have control of. Then the puck ricochets seemed to favor the Devils.
