Not only losing 90-85 to the Utah Jazz on Thursday night, Boston has loss Kevin Garnett for 2-3 weeks and possibly longer due to a strained knee. Knee injuries to basketball players are like stripping the vocal chords of a singer or rapper. This does not bode well for the Celtics who need the big guy for not only his game but all of the intangibles he brings to the team such as leadership, and guidance.
Coach Rivers and Danny Ainge have stated that this has been bothering K. G. for a while and they are now just being cautious with him because the big guy still wanted to play. At least it's still early to the second half of the season so we have a chance to see more of Glenn "Big Baby" Davis and Brian Scalabrine.
Boston is 44-12 on the season and we can only hope they can hang on until his return. A post season appearance is not a concern but home fiels advantage is.
Thanks to Boston.com Marc J. Spears and Frank Dell' Appa for the breaking news.
