brady_throwingI'm a big fan of sports talk radio as I'm sure most of you are and a disturbing amount of callers were asking where is Tom Brady. How come he isn't on the sidelines with his team offering support. The radio hosts who I will not name can sometimes be bullies and disrespect callers with what they feel are stupid questions with answers such as "where do you expect him to be after he just had reconstructive surgery on his knee, in a wheelchair giving Matt Cassel some some tips or advice?" Then calling the poor caller an idiot although I must admit some of them are but they have the power to blow you up if they feel like it.

This was before news of the infection had broken out and finally one of them wisely pointed out that it would be extremely dangerous for Tom to be standing on the sidelines when many plays end violently with players being tackled out of bounds and heaven forbid a couple of players accidentally falling onto Tom as we see it happen every week to coaches, players and photographers who can't get out of the way of the play and get trampled over.

Well Pats fans the wait may be over as teammates such as Kevin Faulk and Matt Light confirmed Mr. Patriot himself has been back in Foxborough for at least a week. He is being checked out by team doctors due to the post operative staff infection he endured and remains on antibiotics. The sight of their teammate and of course team leader couldn't have come at a better time to lift the morale of a team having success but paying a huge price for it every week it seems. Light said everyone was worried about him so to see him personally must have been very uplifting.

Shira Springer has an eye opening article people should take a look at to get more information on what Brady is experiencing. Here is a brief snippet that was very enlightening.

When news surfaced almost four weeks ago that Brady had developed a postoperative infection, the sports medicine community shuddered. Doctors fear nothing more than the development of infections and blood clots. If not caught quickly and treated properly, such complications can threaten a patient's life, never mind the success of a surgery. In Brady's case, the infection was caught early and treated aggressively with wash-out procedures and IV antibiotics.

Those were some powerful words and put the game of football in perspective and in it's proper place. We love tuning in on Sundays and watching # 12 with all of his talents and confidence heaving long bombs for touchdown passes and were angry when he went down in the first game of the season because we knew last years MVP of the NFL would not be able to surprise and entertain us until next year.

As I referenced earlier people were calling in doubting Tom's team loyalty because he wasn't on the sidelines. He was out of sight but not out of people's minds. NOW EVERYONE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE SERIOUS NATURE OF HIS INJURY ! Infections and blood clots have taken many a person's life so let's be happy that Tom is recovering well and has the best doctors taking care of him so that he can come back and do what he does best. First and most importantly be a father, orchestrate touchdown drives, bewilder opponents with the way he reads defenses, and make this Patriots team the juggernaut you don't want to see on your favorite team's schedule. Soon enough we'll all be saying," He's Baaaack!"
