The Patriots are 5-2 heading into their bye week with accolades after their strong performance in London. A 35-7 thrashing of the Buccaneers. Tom Brady was named Offensive Player of the Month which should silence his critics who were questioning the timetable of his return to prominence. IT IS SAFE TO SAY HE'S BACK. This is the third time he has earned that honor having been named Offensive Player of the Month in September and October of 2007 during his monster MVP season.
Safety Brandon Merriweather was named Defensive Player of the Week after his two interception performance. One of them he returned for a touchdown stifling Tampa Bay's first drive of the game. It was a thoroughly dominating outing and now with the bye week, players will make great use of this time to heal up and get ready for their return on November 8th when the Miami Dolphins, last year's division champs come to Gillette to face a well rested and rejuvenated Patriots team.
Everythnng's in line for a second half run to the postseason and it's a lock that they will win the AFC East. The Broncos will stumble it's just a matter of when and hopefully the team will be playing for home field advantage in December and we know the Patriots have become the ultimate bad weather team. You cant touch them in the snow or rain. There will be some tests along the way with the Colts and Saints on the schedule. Bring them on! Also both games with them are away games. The drama is unfolding for another great second half of Patriots football.
