Here is my first picks article of the year.  Hopefully it's not going to be my last.  I make no promises, but I will try.  My picks are bolded.

Carolina at Atlanta (-6.5)

The Celtic's guard Tony Allen is the NBA's official Turnover Machine.  After last seasons 5 interception playoff game against the Cardinals and Week 1's 4 pick game against the Eagles, I am willing to declare Jake Delhomme the NFL's version of Tony Allen.  Matt Ryan on the other hand is the real deal.  This looks like two teams headed in opposite directions.  I am going with the team on the way up.

don't laugh tony.....you're just as bad as he is

Minnesota at Detroit (+10)

So we all thought it was historic when Detroit went 0-16 last year?  Imagine how much more historic it will be this season when they go 0-16.....AGAIN!

Cincinnati at Green Bay (-9)

Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay's offense didn't look too good against the Bears last week.  The Bengals aren't half the defensive team that the Bears are, so I don't see them struggling again.

Houston at Tennessee (-6.5)

How did Houston's quarterback Matt Schaub make it through last weeks game against the J-E-T-S without landing on the Injury Report?  He is about as durable as Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie Unbreakable and yet he somehow survived the beating they put on him.  They face another tough defense this week in Tennessee.  I think the Titans win this one easily.

me too...

New England at NY Jets (+4)

Speaking of the Jets, to say that they were impressive in Week 1 would be a vast understatement.  Their defense was more aggressive than Elky Grospellier and their new QB Mark Sanchez looks super legit.  Sanchez was in complete control of the game from start to finish.

Elky

Guess who didn't look impressive in Week 1?  That would be our very own New England Patriots.  I hate picking against the Pats, but I watched both of these teams play last week and one team was dominate on the road and one team was lucky to get a victory at home.  I hope I am wrong, but more importantly I hope for all of our sakes the offensive line protects #12 because this defense is going to come after him and I really don't want to spend the rest of this season rooting for our back up QB again.

Oakland at Kansas City (-3)

Does anyone that does not live in Oakland or in Kansas City care about this game?  I didn't think so.  Lets move on.

New Orleans at Philadelphia (PK)

If McNabb was healthy I would pick the Eagles in this game.  The New Orleans Saints are frauds.  They are fun to watch when they are at home or when they are playing a bad team and they are even twice as fun to watch when they are playing at home against a bad team.  On the road against a good team I would love to pick against them.  However, since they will be facing a quarterback in Kevin Kolb, who is making his first NFL start I will take the New Orleans Frauds.

St. Louis at Washington (-10)

I don't think I would pick the Redskins to win by more than ten points against any other team in the league, but this is the St. Louis Rams, who just lost to the Seahawks by 28 points.  I hate this game and I hate this pick.

Arizona at Jacksonville (-3)

Speaking of teams I hate, I cannot say that I am very fond of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  I do trust them at home more than I trust a 137 year old Kurt Warner to win against a fairly decent team on the road.  That is assuming of course that Jacksonville is a fairly decent team, which I have no idea if they are.  You know what I change my mind.  I don't like Jacksonville and I am going to pick against them.  Whatever Whatever I'll do what I want! (speaking of doing what I want check out the below clip)

Tampa Bay at Buffalo (-4.5)

This is not your three year old son's Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense and Buffalo is kind of fiesty.  I am slightly concerned with a let down considering the Bills were about two minutes and a fumbled kickoff return away from coming into Gillette and beating the Pats in their snazzy throwback uniforms.  I love those old Pats uni's!  Everyone loves them!  Would anyone object to them just switching back?  I didn't think so!  Humey set up a meeting with us and the Krafts to discuss this matter.

Seattle at San Francisco (-1.5)

Another must miss game!  I would rather watch a rerun of Friends than watch one quarter of this game.  Alright that's a lie.  There is actually nothing I would rather watch less than a rerun of Friends, but still this is a terrible matchup.  I guess that can be expected when the NFC West is terrible and they play each other twice a year.  Speaking of Friends, people really liked that show?  It was supposed to be a comedy right?  I don't understand...  friends_show_3

HAHAHA!!!  they enjoy each others company HAHAHA!!!

Pittsburgh at Chicago (+3)

This is not a terrible matchup.  This is actually quite an intriguing game.  Can Jay Chicken Cutlet bounce back from his 4 int game last week?  I say YES he can.  I am the biggest Chicken Cutlet fan this side of the Sears Tower.  Hey, if Kerry Collins in the year 2009 can throw against the Pitt Defense then why couldn't Jay Cutler?  This being the Pitt Defense with no Troy Polamalu.  I will take the Bears and the points in this one.

I am a chicken cutlet fan

Baltimore at San Diego (-3)

If Tomlinson was playing in this game I would pick Balitmore.  Luckily for San Diego fans the better running back will be playing this week, that being Darren Sproles.  This guy is super exciting with the ball in his hands and this team is much better with him out there and with Philip Rivers throwing the ball.  Seriously.  How many times a game do they need to hand the ball off to Tomlinson for a three yard gain before they realize he isn't the same player anymore?  I've never seen a less effective player touch the ball more.  Especially with all the offensive weapons they have in Rivers, Sproles, Gates, Chris Chambers, and Vincent Jackson.  Let these guys play!  Go away Tomlinson.  You're bringing me down.

I really hope that you are waving goodbye...

Cleveland at Denver (-3)

Who said Josh McDaniels made a mistake in trading away their franchise quarterback Jay Cutler and giving the keys to the car to Kyle Orton?  Did you see that last minute drive Orton engineered last week?  That was the stuff legends are made of.  In case you missed it.  Check it out below.  That's just how McDaniels drew it up.  Poor Brandon Marshall.  How depressing it must be to be a super talented wide receiver and play with a super untalented quarterback?  At least we know who's running the show out there in Denver.  Good move McDaniels.  You showed us all whose boss.  Good luck averaging 14 points a game this year.  Granted if you are going to score some points this will be one of those weeks because Cleveland is terrible too.

NY Giants at Dallas (-3)

Good matchup.  I don't really like either team, but it's a good matchup.  I will take the team that has proven winners over the team trying to prove they are winners.  Woah...that was deep...

Indianapolis at Miami (+3)

Ok, I am going to go out on not much of a limb and say Miami will be terrible this year.  Let's be real, they played way over their heads last year.  I would be shocked if they don't start the season 0-2.
